In fiction
- A second Godzilla emerges. The creature first attacks a Japanese fishing boat, then a Soviet nuclear sub before finally arriving in Japan and attacking a nuclear power plant. The 80 meter monster then raids Tokyo and begins to tear the city apart. The JSDF launches the Super X, an aerial battle mech, to fight the monster, but it is destroyed. Godzilla is then lured to the rim of the volcanic Mt. Mihara, where an eruption is triggered that seals the creature within the volcano. (The Return of Godzilla)
